Why girls fall for "Jerks"

Through careful observation and a bit of experience I have come to the conclusion that girls like "Jerks" for the following reasons.....
Okay let me define the word "Jerk"
In my own words: A jerk is a guy who has an Ego ten times his size, due to this most things he does are for his benefit and mostly his benefit alone, once he has accomplished his "task" with one lady, he moves to the other most times leaving a trail of broken hearts which he cares less about. He really doesn't have manners and can be very rude. However a jerk is usually very good looking, very friendly and also quite romantic (that is when he is in mission mode) he could be genuinely nice sometimes but its hard to decipher and lastly he could be quite generous ( also mostly in mission mode)
 I think I should define a gentleman, this most girls deserve but most times don't fall for.
In my own words: A gentleman is a guy who is decent and principled, usually quite smart, could also be good looking. sometimes romantic and knows how to treat a lady. often shy or just laid back. When he falls in love its usually genuine but gets his heart broken sometimes by a girl who chooses a jerk over him, however a gentleman could also be quite proud especially if his looks get into his head.

Now, here are the plausible reasons:

1. Girls like affection. It is believed that girls are emotionally "triggered" by what they hear than by what they see, meaning if a guy tells a girl she is pretty she is likely to notice that guy and jerks are very good at flattery! A gentle man might not be quick to give compliments, he might just admire without compliment either because he is too shy or thinks he would be too forward.
2. Jerks are go getters! when they want something they go for it, be it for fun or the real deal. when a jerk is on a mission to get a girl he would be bold and very hardworking. He would find out all the background info he could get on the "subject" and use it to his advantage. Gentlemen are not as hardworking as these guys, in fact they are very lazy! when they see a girl they like, they admire her from a distance or they wait for her to make the first move or they just watch the jerk have her!
3. Jerks are very nice, its one of their irresistible characteristics! they are usually the first to start an interesting  conversation and they are usually fun to be with. They also probably have a good sense of humor. Gentlemen could have a good sense of humor but are not always the first to start a conversation
4. Hmm... jerks have MANNERS! ironic isn't it? however this is usually when they are in mission mode, they would open the door for you, walk you wherever, take you anywhere, carry your luggage, give you their jacket when it is cold... and the list goes on but when they're either accomplished or tired its the reverse. Gentlemen could do this but most times forget to.
5. Jerks reply messages! they reply and frequently keep in touch as well   ( this also depends on where you stand with him) they could call as many times as you want and reply even the silliest of messages! gentlemen don't reply as much as jerks do, they forget its courtesy to reply even the silliest message. Silly in this context  doesn't mean stupid tho (lol)
6. Jerks are quite generous! they are ready to spend and spend till they get what they want, gold diggers beware! Gentlemen spend when necessary.
Jerks don't hesitate to express their feelings, they are very good at this, sometimes too forward but this gets the girl anyway, gentle men don't and usually act very weird to the girl they might fancy, they could even be quite rude (ironic isn't it?)
7. Jerks are cool! they are quite attractive and appealing, they usually have better fashion sense than gentlemen in some cases.

A guy could be both a gentleman and a jerk (in fact there are a lot of this kind) depending on the situation but girls mostly go for a jerk- like guy because he is more expressive, sad isn't it? sometimes a girl even forgets she deserves better but then again the gentlemen are mostly lazy, LAzy, LAZY!

Dear Jerks, your girls deserve better, remember what goes around comes around, girls can be bitches too! (excuse my French)

Dear Gentlemen, please WAKE UP! you don't know what you've got until you've lost it, don't just stand there, GO FOR IT!

Dear Girls, Ladies, NEVER settle for a Jerk! you deserve better, don't worry the gentleman will come around.
